Introduction

Nepal is the country full of major natural resources and diversification. Utilisation of abundant available natural resources would help to promote the national economy substantially. Most of the families of Nepali people with main occupation as agriculture still compel to depend on their own production only up to six months. Still there are 25% of people under the level of poverty line. As the ratio of increase in income is still less than the increase in population it is essential to develop alternative sources of income through the development in entrepreneurship.

Today’s necessity is the development of entrepreneurship and increasing self-employment through the identification and utilisation of alternative resources. Considering these facts and conditions Nepal government has started Micro Enterprise Development Programme since 1999 with the technical and financial supports of UNDP. The main aim of this programme is to improve the social and economic condition of the poor through the development of micro enterprises. In Myagdi district this programme started in 2003.

With the financial and technical assistance of MEDEP the experienced and socially motivated group organised, established and registered SANGAM in the year 2005.  SANGAM is registered in District Administration Office, This is unique organisation working for the promotion and development of microenterpreneurs in Myagdi and neighbouring districts. SANGAM is also registered in Social Welfare Council and actively participating in the social mobilisation and social development programmes along with the entrepreneurship development.

To be established as a main business development support providing organization for the development of efficient and self-reliance society by improving economic and social status of the people through the enterprise development.

Mission

To provide necessary business counselling and services to different Government, non-government as well as entrepreneurs for the creation and development of enterprises as well as in using appropriate technology and make them aware to take benefit from the developmental activities provided by the Government and other sources.
